Jewellery making has always held an interest for me. During my almost 40 years of pottery I have taken time out to take some courses and explore metal working techniques. About 2 years ago I discovered Precious Metal Clay which has developed into a fantastic new outlet for my expressions. I make as many of the components as possible including beads, clasps, earwires, etc. Using PMC in sivler, bronze and copper: silver sheet and wire, polymer clay, and porcelain clay. For the brilliant colours and playfull aspect I use semiprecious stones such as turquoise, coral, amber, jade, dried nuts and seeds. This maluable silver, bronze, and copper allows me to work with metal in a similar way that I work with porcelain. I love that I am able to use the whimsical, fanciful flavour of my pottery and take it into the realm of "wearable art" in this exciting new medium. See my jewellery at the next Show!"
